damn, no funny title this time.
-background artists-
i mentioned how i did my backgrounds on a previous post. however i realised midway through production that i didnt have enough time to get all the backgrounds done for the film.
so i had to get help from others. i asked around a fair few people i knew who could do the work as they were skilled enough, however there was a stumbling block here as a lot of the people i asked to help me were either busy with their own work for deadlines, or they had jobs that required them so unfortunately i got a lot more offers to get backgrounds done than i did get people to work on them this left me having to do the vast majority of my backgrounds on my own. however i did get two people to help out in terms of getting bgs done.
-voice actors-
I wanted to get some competent voice actors together as i honestly find my own voicing to be cringy when i hear it. im sure it sounds fine to others, but to me it just irks my skin a little. i did manage to get a few voice actors to fill the roles but i was still left with the majority of characters to voice.
To achive the recording i didnt go to a recording booth here in the uni like with past years projects because i didnt have the time to get people organised there and instead i rented out a dictaphone from the media store, found a decent sounding free room and gathered my voice actors to the room to quickly record dialogue so they could get back to their own work swiftly. this is a reccouring problem i found that i'll mention more in my production analysis
-the road sound-
ok so this is colab page has been quite dreary and down trodden "ugh i could get people in time" well, fear not, it's not all like that, i did get the help of a fantastic 2nd year music student james millar who provided me with a great audio track to go along with my film. not to say there isnt a few things i might have changed about it. but as it stands it's good and it fits the purpose. and beggars cant be choosers. fortunately i have some nice sound and i coherant story.
poor james though, i probably dumped a little much work on him that is fair. because i was animating it as he was making the music there have been several times when the audio has had to go under revision with scenes being cut out, or some being replaced, or some even being extended to acchive better comedic timing. on the night before the deadline i got my final sound file from him at 2 in the morning after i sent his a rough updated film with some scenes re-aranged to fit the narrative better
luckily the absolute legend managed to sort me out before it got light even whislt he was intoxicated, presumably celebrating what he thought was a finished sound file. fortunately though for his work load and my conscious i have a sound file i can work on now and produce the last few scenes that are missing by the 1st of june
